Work Experience Ideas For Year 10 School Pupils

For most students, a job is not something they may want, but something they may need. It can be quite tough to handle working and going to school and studying as well as having some play time. But, it’s important that we teach 10th grade students that we need money to live, and the way to get that money is to work for it. 10th grade students may not really know where to begin when it comes to jobs that will give them some good working experience. Let’s take a look at some jobs that would give 10th grade students the opportunity to experience different occupations that may teach them a lot about life.

Tutoring
Smart students can take advantage of their intelligence to make money tutoring. If other students are having difficulty with their grades or understanding concepts, offer to tutor them for money.

Create some flyers or business cards you can hand out at school and to post out in local areas around your home to know that you are willing to help. List the courses you excel in and if you made A’s in a class, you can probably help teach another student to do so.

Tutoring is also needed often times in music lessons or language courses. If you are fluent in a foreign language, working as an interpreter or tutor would be an excellent way to learn and make money.

Waiting Tables
Waiting tables can give you a lot of experience in customer service. It is a job that will have you on your feet for hours, but it’s pretty easy to get hired and most towns have plenty of opportunities for waiters and waitresses. Some of the pricier eateries may have a dress code but tips would normally be more here too.

Cooking/Baking
If you enjoy cooking and baking and are thinking of a career in the food industry or working as a chef, starting a part-time business is a great idea. Working with small party orders or baking cakes for birthdays can earn you a lot of money. Flyers and business cards can be printed to promote your business.

Freelancing
Students can find jobs doing some freelance work in things such as web design, freelance writing, photography and animation. If you enjoy any of these hobbies are thinking of making them a profession one day, it would give you lots of fun experience.

Students in 10th grade are approaching the years that they need to think about their future careers. Working some part time jobs that help them gain experience as well as seeing if this is what they would enjoy doing can benefit them in the long run.
